Golden Globes Best Dressed
These five women all looked glamorous, stylish, and elegant last night. Something else they had in common: a moderation that kept the bling and jewels to a more low-key taste level. No cupcake dresses here, and, after all, who doesn’t appreciate a little recession sensitivity? These looks were expensive and chic without being gaudy or tacky. They also dressed their age. Way to go gals. Here, in no particular order:
Emma Stone killin’ it, which she does every time she wears Lanvin. Love that belt.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo slays us again. (Yes, this is the only nominated movie we’ve seen.)*
There is sparkle here, but it somehow comes across modestly. Nicely done. Plans to catch up on Homeland before next season are already in the works.
Julianne Moore somehow manages to make strapless AND black look interesting. Love her, love the tiers on her dress, love her earrings.
Speaking of interesting, hello Tilda Swinton! This color is absolutely striking against her skin, not to mention refreshing. Looking forward to more pastels on the red carpet this season. (Also, cool hair.)
HONORABLE MENTION:
She looks like she’s having fun, she looks like she just threw something together, and she looks like a Barbie. Nicely played.
Like it a lot.
Finally, a shout out to this dog from The Artist.
You’re wicked cute!
So that’s all! Looking forward to seeing more from these ladies and everybody else as awards season chugs along.
*Rango not withstanding
